Import Process Overview
1. Export from Source App
Each app has its own export process:
- Usually found in Settings or Account
- Exports to CSV (comma-separated values)
- Sent via email or saved to files
- See specific guides for detailed steps
2. Get the CSV File
- Download to your computer
- Or transfer from mobile device
- Keep the file accessible for upload
3. Import to SkyJourney
- Go to Flights → Add Flight
- Click Import
- Select your source app from the dropdown
- Upload the CSV file
- Wait for processing
4. Review Import Results

What Data Is Imported
Depending on the source:
- ✅ Flight number
- ✅ Departure and arrival airports
- ✅ Flight dates and times
- ✅ Airline
- ✅ Aircraft type (if available)
- ✅ Seat information (if available)
- ✅ Flight class (if available)
- ✅ Notes (if available)
Import Limitations
File Size
- CSV and text files: maximum 2MB per file
- PDF files (FlightMemory): maximum 15MB per file
- For larger histories, split into multiple files
Processing Time
- Small imports (under 100 flights): Seconds
- Medium imports (100-500 flights): ~1 minute
- Large imports (500+ flights): A few minutes
Duplicate Detection
SkyJourney attempts to prevent duplicates:
- Checks flight number + date + route
- Warns if potential duplicates found
- You can choose to skip or import anyway
Best Practices
- Start with recent data - Test with a small export first
- Check CSV format - Open in Excel/Google Sheets to verify
- Backup source - Keep original data until verified
- Review results - Check a few flights after import
- Clean up - Delete any duplicates or errors
Troubleshooting Imports
Common Issues
Format Not Recognized
- Ensure you selected the correct source app
- Verify the CSV hasn't been modified

- Special characters may not import correctly
- Usually affects airport names or notes
- Can be manually fixed after import
Failed Import
- File may be corrupted
- CSV might not match expected format
- Try exporting again

SkyJourney CSV Format
The SkyJourney Export source uses the same CSV format SkyJourney produces when you export your flights. If you build your own file, match these columns:
uuid,flight_number,scheduled_departure_time,scheduled_arrival_time,revised_departure_time,revised_arrival_time,distance,duration_minutes,co2_emissions,seat,notes,travel_reason,class,raw_tail_number,price,departure_airport,arrival_airport,aircraft,airline,airline_icao

The easiest way to get a valid template is to export your existing flights first (Premium), then edit that file.
