Adding Your First Flight
Let's add your first flight to SkyJourney! This tutorial will walk you through the process step by step.
Starting the Process
There are several ways to add a flight:
- From the Dashboard - Click the + button in the top right
- From Flights Page - Navigate to Flights and click Add Flight
- Mobile - Tap the + icon in the mobile header
Choose Your Method
You'll see three options for adding a flight:
1. Search for Flight ✈️
The easiest method for recent flights:
- Enter the flight number (e.g., AA100, BA281)
- Select the departure date
- Click Search
- Review the flight details and click Add Flight
SkyJourney will automatically fetch:
- Departure and arrival airports
- Scheduled times
- Aircraft type
- Airline information
- Route distance
2. Add Manually 📝
Best when search can't find your flight or you're logging historical trips. The manual flow is a short 3-step wizard:
- Flight & Airline - enter the flight number and airline (seat is optional here)
- Airports - select the departure and arrival airports
- Schedule - set the departure and arrival date/time, then click Add Flight
See Adding Flights Manually for the full walkthrough.
3. Import Flights 📥
Upload flights from other apps:
- Click Import
- Select your source (Flighty, Flightradar24, OpenFlights, App In The Air, JetLovers, byAir, FlightMemory, or a SkyJourney export)
- Upload the exported file
- Review and confirm the import
Filling in Flight Details
Required in the manual wizard
- Flight number and airline

- Departure and arrival date/time
Add later from the flight details dialog
Once a flight is saved, open it to enrich it with:
